Cocathédrale Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue - Chapelle Marie-Rose

Open year round

A Beautiful Religious Heritage Building

This imposing cocathedral is dedicated to Anthony of Padua, patron saint of sailors, shipwreks and prisoners, as well as to Mother Marie-Rose, who founded the Congrégation des Soeurs des Saints Noms de Jésus et de Marie in 1843. It was the third church built in the city, from 1884 to 1887. In addition to its wonderful architecture outside, its indoor decoration hides real treasures. Enter to admire the statues of important characters who marked history both on the Old continent and in New France. You can also admire the beautiful sculptures, the high altar, as well as the Marie-Rose chapel, which pays tribute to this saint for her contribution to the region's life back in that century.
