This municipality has been inhabited since the early 18th century. It was then known under the name of Saint-Marc-de-Cournoyer, in tribute to Jacques Hertel de Cournoyer, to which this territory was given in 1695. As far as one can remember, this municipality has always been devoted to agriculture. Nowadays, visitors can still admire the beautiful cultivated lands as well as the charming little farms.
