The activities of the Centre d’interprétation du patrimoine de Sorel, which are dedicated to the réserve de la biosphere du Lac-Saint-Pierre, emphasize the main aspects of this unique environment.
The permanent exhibition, Un pays entre terre et eau (a country between earth and water), gives an exhaustive description of human occupation in a living environment that focuses on water and wetlands. During the 2008 summer season, the Centre also presents the exhibition Des oiseaux et des hommes (birds and men). This exhibition offers a particular and sensitive point of view on the numerous interactions between humans and birds.
The Centre also offers ecotourism cruises in the Lake Saint-Pierre archipelago. In fact, aboard the Randonnée nature, you will have the chance to go on a three-hour cruise in an environment that is still more than 90-% natural. Our guide will give you information about the way of life of the island inhabitants as well as about the abundant fauna and flora that can be found in this area.
