
The Beauharnois Generating Station is located on the St. Lawrence River, more precisely on the Beauharnois Canal. It is one of the world's longest hydroelectric power stations with its 38 generating units spread on nearly one kilometre. This station was built in three phases as early as 1929. You can go on the 90-minute guided visit to learn more about the building of the station as well as about its functioning. The visits are free, but people over 18 years of age need to show an identification card.
