This National Historic Site, one of six in the region, is located in a very strategic site on the St. Lawrence River. In fact, from its position, it played a major role in the development of the maritime transport in Canada. Go on a guided tour of the site to learn how this first canal built in North America transformed into the St. Lawrence Seaway. Visit the Octogonal Blockhaus, from where you will have a great view on the site and on the St. Lawrence River. Inside the Blockhaus, you will also find an important collection of artefacts. Outside, you can try to load a real carronade! You will fully relive this epoch.
