The Beauharnois hydroelectric power station is one of the largest of its kind in the world. During your 90-minute guided visit, you will learn about the functioning and the building of this vast structure. Built in 1932, the power station holds a reservoir of 200 km2, produces a power of 1,600 MW, and it has a 24-metre falls. During your visit, you can see the 38 turbine-alternators groups, which, if put together end-to-end, are almost 1-kilometre long. You can also visit the interpretation centre where you will learn more about magnetic and electric fields. The visits are free, but groups of 10 people or more must make a reservation.
